Canopus Software Laboratory was founded in 1992 by a team of experts in programming, banking, accounting and auditing and system analysis with the goal to create and introduce to the market an optimal banking software system, which would make the bank's routine tasks much easier to handle. The first version of Canopus' banking software appeared in early 1993 and was sold in the Russian market under the brand name of MacroBank*1. The product was developed using latest contemporary technologies and in a short while became popular among Russia's small and medium-sized bankers. At the same time Russia revealed a steady demand for private offshore banks, which also needed automation. This led to creation of new versions of the product on the basis of MacroBank*1. Those versions were developed to meet international accounting standards. Since then our company has implemented over 50 bank automation projects both in Russia and tax havens. A lot of our customers have been successfully running updated versions of MacroBank*2, successor of MacroBank*1 solution.
In 1995 Canopus Software Laboratory introduced new generation of its banking software, carrying figure 4 beside its brand name. macrobank4 software system was developed using advanced RAD technologies such as Borland Delphi and absorbed years of experience of working with banks around the world. Canopus' specialists knew from experience that in order to be competitive in the international market the product had to offer such amount of flexibility which would allow us to meet not only individual requirements of particular banks but also requirements of relevant authorities in other countries. This is how appeared our macrobank4 com banking software solution, and macrobank4 ru, its clone targeted solely at the Russian market.
Canopus Software Laboratory continuously works to perfect all its software products, using the latest world technologies and its own know-how. Our plans for the near future include creation of a universal banking software solution compatible with a whole range of operating systems and relational databases. The first step in this direction was made in early 2003 by launching our Internet-banking software system built both for Windows and Linux/Unix platforms.
